Age Group Committee  (Chair: Kim Highfield/Sarah Nielsen)

Assists the Age Group Coordinators in planning the various activities and outings for the specific age groups.

Direct Mail Committee  (Chair:  Michele Schuckel)

Creates internal membership mailings for all events, including text and graphic layout.  This committee is also responsible for the printing and distribution of all the Direct Mail pieces, maintaining accurate records of the bulk mail ledger account, and coordinating the President's review of all mailings.

Drop In Committee (Chairs:  Sarah Svenson/Anna Wagner)

Assists the Drop-In chairs with the weekly Drop-In activities at the Community Center.

Executive Committee (Chairs:  Diane Douglas, SueYoung Min, Leslie Stonestreet, Barbie Cobb, Judy Chen)

The WCCA Executive Committee consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Budget Chair. This committee is approved by the Board of Directors at the beginning of each year, i.e. June. The Executive Committee addresses any urgent issues and may meet two to three times a year depending on pending issues. The Executive Committee also meets to review the preliminary budget before presentation to the board and general membership.

Information Technology Committee (Chair:  Linda Hillery)

A new committee in 2004-2005, IT assists in the management and development of the WCCA website.  They will research technologies available to improve communications within the WCCA.  Those who would like to get involved with this committee should be computer literate -- experience with any of the following is a big plus:  Web design, MS Front Page or other web development tools, MS Word.

Library Committee (Chairs: Patty Sins/Grayson Kasdon )

Responsible for enhancing members' use of the town library through special events and speakers.  The Committee Chairs act as liaisons between the WCCA and the Weston Public Library staff.  The committee will help organize activities to celebrate National Library Week in November and Children's Book Week in April.

Media Relations Committee (Chair:  Alison Slater)

Responsible for publicizing the appropriate WCCA event in local newspapers and the Weston Public Schools bulletin, Westword.   Information for the various events is provided in advance by the event chair.  It is also the responsibility of Media Relations to prepare and distribute "sandwich boards" as needed.

Members-at-Large Committee (Chairs:  Eileen Fava/Patty Dacey)

The Members-at-Large are responsible for coordinating refreshments at the Parent Education meetings and other events, organizing the annual CPR class, assisting Board members on projects as the need arises, and arranging for baby-sitting at Board meetings.

Membership Committee (Chairs:  Cat Niemann/Alyson Muzila/Caitlin Salyer)

The Membership Committee is responsible for welcoming new members through phone calls, personal visits and coffees.  They also maintain the membership database and produce the Membership Directory each November.  This committee makes sure New Member brochures are available at all major events; and it oversees the membership renewal process.

Newsletter Committee (Chair:  Amy Young/Lisa Astley-Sparke)

The Newsletter Committee is responsible for the bimonthly publication of the WCCA Newsletter.  This involves collecting articles and announcements for the publication, coordinating the graphic layout, the printing and the distribution of the publication to the membership.

Outreach Committee (Chairs:  Heather Stephens/Wendy MacDonald)

Responsible for defining and coordinating outreach programs.  These include both an internal "Safety Net" which consists of  assisting  members and neighbors with emergency needs, and external initiatives which extend beyond the membership.  The Waltham Creative Start nursery school and the Weston Council on Aging are two external programs.

Parent Education Committee (Chairs: Alison Barlow/Wendy Chandor )

Coordinates speakers for the Fall and Spring meetings.  The committee also coordinates forums for preschools, kindergarten and day camps, and oversees parent discussion groups.

Special Events/Adult Committee (Chair:  Tracey Morzano)

Coordinates both the Spring and Fall Cocktail Party and assists with other adult social events as needed.

Special Events/Children Committee (Chair:  Andrea Finard) 

Coordinates the membership-wide children's events during the three school vacation weeks and on other dates as appropriate.

Special Events/Family Committee (Chair:  Ali Fernandez)

Coordinates membership wide family events as defined by the current year's budget.  This usually includes a Halloween Parade, Pancake breakfast, and Memorial Day concert.
