*Let’s gather together to celebrate Library Week with a visit from children’s book author Gaia Cornwall! Meet at the Weston Public Library at 10am on Saturday November 17, 2018 and Gaia will read Jabari Jumps and talk about being a children’s author. Reply on BigTent by November 14th if you will be attending.
*Join us for our first event co-hosted by the Weston PTO, WCL and WCCA at the Weston Golf Club (275 Meadowbrook Rd. – no demin please) 7pm, doors open at 6.30pm. Nataly Kogan, entrepreneur, author, and speaker, will discuss the pursuit of happiness and her new book Happier Now: How to Stop Chasing Perfection and Embrace Everyday Moments (Even the Difficult Ones). Copies of her book will be available for sale. Reply to Big Tent if you are attending by 10/15.
*Grab your sneakers and come join us for the WCCA 8th Annual Mini-Marathon! This event is open to toddlers through 3rd grade and will take place at the Field School. Children are encouraged to raise extra money to support the Weston Friends of the Blue Hill Club, an organization dedicated to helping children in need attend the summer camp program at The Blue Hill Boys & Girls Club in Dorchester. Money raised will help at-risk children enjoy summer fun and learning under the guidance of talented and caring staff members. Donations can be made directly on the registration page, by cash or a check made out to “WCCA”; a combined donation check is given to the Blue Hill Club. All donations are tax deductible. Pledge forms are available for download on the registration page or you can email the organizers. Pre-registration is required: https://wcca8thannualminimarathon.eventbrite.com All participants will receive a bib and medal. Refreshments will be provided after the run to all participants and their families.

Rain Date: Sunday, October 14th, 2018 (If necessary, the rain date will be announced via email at 7:00AM on October 13th.)

*Please join the WCCA in a donation drive to benefit Birthday Wishes, a Newton-based non-profit organization that provides birthday parties for homeless children and teens. Birthday Wishes serves more than 185 shelters and transitional living facilities throughout Massachusetts as well as greater New England and Long Island, bringing joy to thousands of homeless children each year. The drive will run from November 5th to November 16th. Let’s help local kids enjoy their special day!
Birthday Wishes currently has a particular need for the following items:
- Cake mix, frosting, and disposable baking pans
- Wooden puzzles for toddlers
- Journals and diaries for teen boys and girls
- Soccer balls, basketballs, and footballs
Please note that all items must be NEW. Birthday Wishes is unable to accept even gently used items.

*Friday Drop-In: Join us in the Great Room at the Weston Community Center with your infant, toddler or preschooler for a weekly morning of free indoor fun. Every Friday from 10:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. beginning Friday, September 8 (cancelled on school holidays and Weston public school closings).
